Food Bank Volunteers
Our food bank volunteers will be involved in the preparation of food parcels from the local authority welfare assistance programme operated by Citizens Advice Trafford. This warehouse based role does not involve dealing directly with members of the public as all food parcels will be given out at the bureau. 

As a food bank volunteer you would: 
  • Prepare food parcels for distribution to the local bureau 
  • Assist in stock rotation of food stuffs within the warehouse 
  • Inform food bank co-ordinator of any shortages of products 
  • Keep warehouse tidy and in logical order 
  • Keep all food items in date order and carry out regular checks for out-of-date and damaged food 
  • Work within health and safety guidelines 
  • Work as part of a team 
  • Attend warehouse training as and when required 
  • Attend warehouse team meetings 
  • Provide support to warehouse coordinator 

Specific qualifications or experience are not required for this role and any necessary training will be provided. You will need to:- 
  • Be flexible in the type of work undertaken 
  • Be able to work as part of a team 
  • Be open minded and non-judgemental 
  • Be willing to work within health and safety guidelines
