About Citizens Advice Trafford

Citizens Advice Trafford is a member of the "Citizens Advice" national association and works within the association's aims and principles, which are:-

• To ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively

and equally

• To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services both locally and nationally.

We provide advice and information services across the Borough of Trafford through a number of contact methods. We also provide specialist advice in the areas of Welfare Benefits and Debt through out contract with the Legal Services Commission.

We have a dedicated team of volunteers who undergo a thorough and comprehensive training program. The volunteer staff is supported by a professional staff team who provide supervision, training, specialist advice and management.

Oversight and governance are provided by a trustee board of elected representatives from the local community, and the quality of our advice, management and governance is regularly inspected and audited independently.
